1970 Ferrari Dino 246 GT 'L-Series' by Scaglietti: One of 357 Built and a Factory Silver Example
This 1970 Ferrari 246GT Dino is a highly collectible 'L Series' just out of 41 year loving ownership. A desirable factory Silver car (Argento Auteuil Metallizzato) with black interior. Chassis 00668 was originally delivered new in Italy and imported to the US in 1972. It has remained under the same ownership since 1981.
Following production of the 206 GTs, the more powerful and refined 246 GT model was introduced in March 1969. Separated across L, M, and E series (corresponding to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd). With only 357 'L Series' cars produced, they're considered the rarest and most desirable of the three. A development of the 206 GT, the 2.4-litre L-series had a 60mm longer wheelbase, but retained many of the features of the previous Dino, including knock-off wheel nuts, headrests mounted on the firewall, a passenger foot rest, ventilation controls on the centre console, and an external bonnet lock.
This particular 'L Series' Dino has been off the road for the last couple years and is ready for servicing at this time. A very original and honest example that's cosmetically presentable as-is. Straight, solid, and clean with nice paint, chrome, and interior. Offered with a Marcel Massini history report as well as its factory jack bag with hammer and spare. Highly coveted by collectors, this 'L Series' 246 GT Dino is sure to delight it's next lucky owner.
