This 1964 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Sedan is an extremely rare find and a very original driver. White with tan interior. Mechanically sound it, it runs and drives well. A solid, straight, and honest car with good panel fit and door gaps. Clean underside and a nice usable interior with presentable wood accents. Just out of 20 year ownership. The Mercedes-Benzs 300 SE Fintail was the top of the line and even today it remains a luxurious and highly capable automobile. The example offered here represents the luxury and class of this much sought-after model. The 300 SE was significantly refined with its Bosch fuel-injected, six-cylinder engine producing 170 bhp, sufficient for around 200 km/h. Of particular interest to enthusiasts is that the 300 SEs engine is a detuned version of the same engine that powered the 300 SL. As is the case with Mercedes-Benzs flagship models, 300 SE ownership was confined to a few very lucky, very wealthy individuals. One could have bought two of the legendary E-Type Jaguars for the price of a single 300 SE. Because of its expense and exclusivity, only 5,202 had been sold when production ceased in 1965. Original examples of top-of-the-line automobiles are greatly sought after on todays market and this 300 SE will make an ideal companion for many years and many miles. - One of 5,202 built
